Region is most commonly a geographical term that is used in various ways among the different branches of geography. In general, a region may be seen as a collection of smaller units (as in "the New England states") or as one part of a larger whole (as in "the New England region of the United States"). Regions can be defined by physical characteristics, human characteristics, and functional characteristics. As a way of describing spatial areas, the concept of regions is important and widely used among the many branches of geography, each of which can describe areas in regional terms. For example, ecoregion is a term used in environmental geography, cultural region in cultural geography, bioregion in biogeography, and so on. The field of geography that studies regions themselves is called regional geography. In the fields of physical geography, ecology, biogeography, zoogeography, and environmental geography, regions tend to be based on natural features such as ecosystems or biotopes, biomes, drainage basins, mountain ranges, soil types. GNU Free Documentation License How does one become a district or regional manager for Taco Bell? Q. I have been working at a Taco Bell/KFC now for about three months and I am currently attending college for business management. I like my job there and enjoy the environment. I was wondering what one has to do in order to become a district manager or even a regional manager. Also how long it would take to get that high in the company. I may or may not stay working there for long after graduating college. Unless it would be worth the investment of time. Q. What do you think is the most difficult and obscure regional dialect of Persian in Iran to understand? Which parts of Iran can you just not understand anything the people are saying?? Asked by <3 - Sun Mar 28 19:41:26 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. There are a few languages in Iran which are totally different from one another and there are also different dialects for the country's main language, Farsi. For those parts in which people just speak Farsi but with different accents, it's not very difficult to understand. However, there are regions in which people do speak Farsi but the dialect is so different which it may sound totally strange. For example Yazd in central Iran or Kerman in southern Iran. The examples of regions at which people speak totally different language would be north west Iran (Azerbayjan), west Iran (Kurdistan), far south Iran, and north Iran (Mazandaran). Basically, the further you travel away from the center (Tehran and its regions) to the boarders of the… [cont.] Answered by Saman M - Sun Mar 28 20:16:54 2010 Japanese regional airline pilot to US based regional pilot?
Q. I'm about to join a regional airline as a pilot here in Japan, but my ultimate goal is to fly for a carrier based in the US(regional or domestic preferred). Would this be possible as long as I log in the hours? And yes, I have US citizenship. Asked by David B - Fri Oct 19 22:13:25 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. From what I understand there is a real pilot shortage crisis looming, especially in North America. Students are being picked up by major airlines with hardly 200 hours because they want to reserve them when they finally get their ATP. If you have US Citizenship, I see no reason why it would not be possible. You could even go for a small US based regional airline right now, but perhaps the best would be to log in the time in Japan, get as many type ratings you can get and than go strait to a legacy airline such as AA, Delta, Northwest, Continental or United. How did you end up in Japan anyways? I'd be interested to know...
